I initiated an Awareness Campaign on MySpace Avoid UP WITHOUT Contraceptive Drugs, YOU CHOOSE WHEN to Become a Parent on 12 January 08 in a disagreement with our UK Health Minister´s decision to introduce contraceptive drugs for FREE to children under 16 years of age.
The Campaign will be a permanent global event. Our mission is to empower wo(men) with the ability to choose when to become parents.

I learnt Spanish before I joined the United Nations as a Senior Economist. I spent 15 wonderful days in Spain as a tourist visiting Madrid, Segovia, Cordoba, Sevilla and Granada.

Unintended pregnancy is ANOTHER serious issue and I support ALL the things people should do to avoid it. The method the use is a personal choice and I believe s/b up to the indivdual but learning about PREVENTION is the key. Teens and parents MUST be able to communicate to each other openly and decide on the action to take. My mother did this when I was 16 and I did not marry or have children until I after I turned 35.
I can understand your concerns about girls using contraceptives that contain hormones and what possible side effects are. In the States, they wanted a program that would teach sex-education in schools and allow for the distribution of condoms if students wanted them. Our President vetoed the bill and the ONLY thing he wanted promoted in schools was abstinence discussion-(VERY unrea;itisc), and it is NOT working. Education and prevention MUST be practiced in developing countries as well as ours but until the narrow-mindedness of our elected officials and people is changed, the problem will continue. There are so many relgions and customs all over the world which govern people's actions and that infrastructure is so hard to change but it needs to!! Good luck with your efforts Pett!!!
